Arentina and Gilbert reach agreement...
The
UAR (Union Argentina de Rugby) and Gilbert have reached agreement on a contract
extension that joins the two parties together for a further 4 years.
The
Argentinian Rugby Union has signed a new long-term
contract with Gilbert Rugby as their
official and exclusive ball and equipment supplier.
Miguel
Dupont, Commercial Manager of UAR said: “We are very happy to continue to
work with Gilbert, as the Argentinian Rugby Union takes important steps in
coming years. The contribution that they made in the development of the
sport of Rugby in the last 188 years
and their work with the IRB and many
Unions around the world in the development of the sport, made our
choice an easy one.”
Sales
and Marketing Director at Gilbert Rugby, Richard Gray, said "The fact that
the Pumas are joining the renowned Tri Nations competition is recognition of the
tremendous success the team has enjoyed in recent years. There is no
question that Argentina is now firmly established as one of the world’s
leading rugby nations. We are delighted that the UAR have chosen
to play Gilbert. This again endorses the quality of the Gilbert ball and
demonstrates Gilbert's strong association with rugby at the highest level around

Gilbert
will be the official ball for the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups and supply
balls for; amongst many others: Australia, The Barbarians, Canada,
England, France, Ireland, Namibia, Samoa, Scotland, South Africa, USA,
The Magners League, Super Rugby, the LNR and The Aviva Premiership. The
Gilbert ball is widely regarded as the number one choice of professional players
world wide!
